Dr. Mrs. Rose Oriaran Anthony, the Honorable Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). A position she currently holds in merit for the second term, a feat no one else has attained since the inception of the Election management body in Nigeria. Her commitment, dedication and hard work has earned her so many recognitions too numerous to mention
Dr. Rose is a trained Educationist and Astute Administrator. She is a true Nigerian who speaks and communicates in all Major Nigerian Languages including her own dialect. Dr. Rose Oriaran Anthony is well read, and vastly travelled. She is not just a graduate but a numerous master’s degree and Phd holder
Her pursuit for excellence saw her going to the University of Westminster in London where she bagged second Master’s Degree in Public Communication and Public Relations, shortly after her first master degree from the University of Abuja Nigeria, a PhD holder in Peace and Conflict Studies from the Freedom University of America, a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration from the Freedom University and Theological Seminary of America, an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration from the European American University, as well as an honorary doctorate degree from the Cornerstone University of Atlanta Georgia. Dr. Rose O. Anthony is a certified Management and Policy expert with so many international and National certifications too numerous to mention.
Dr. Rose, started her career in Public service as a teacher, and was to later join the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) where she has successfully built a career spanning over 30 years, Rose, rose to the pinnacle of a Director, and subsequently appointed the honorable secretary to the commission, where is currently serving out her second tenure.
Prior to that she has served the Commission in various capacities where she has successfully championed accessibility of the Electoral Process for Persons with disabilities and the development of a policy on access for them, as well as the introduction of inclusivity interventions. She also advocated and initiated the gender policy of the commission, this has helped the commission in evolving into an equal opportunity Organization.
Dr. Rose Oriaran – Anthony is a Fellow and member of many professional bodies including; Fellow, the Nigerian Institute of Humanitarian and Social Development, Fellow, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Fellow Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria and Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administrators, Member Nigeria Institute of Management, Member Revenue Managers, Member Nigeria Institute of Taxation, and the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Among others.
Dr Anthony is a consummate humanitarian, well known for her charitable works, which led her to set up the SUNDAY AND OMOIKHERE ORIARAN FOUNDATION (SOOF), in memory of her late parents. This has given her a platform from where she reaches out to the vulnerable in the society in various areas of needs. SOOF holds regular outreaches, as well as during the Christmas and Salah celebrations. This has now become a Beacon of hope where numerous people look up to with so much expectations and Excitement.
Finally, it is worthy to state that She is a recipient of numerous Awards, Chieftaincy Titles and recognitions among which is the: Honorary Citizen of the state of Georgia, Gimbiya Edo tittle by the Minna Emirate council, Crown Princess of Eme-Ora Edo state, Adaukwu dioranma Umu Ada Igbo and Yeye akorede of Ekiti, The selfless Service Award by Accolade Magazine, The Peace Ambasador by the Peace Core International, among many others. She is a stickler for excellence whose happiest moments are while working or mentoring. She is a consummate family person, a mother who balances work and family life effectively and a great cook.
